About the Event
'Fashion is a common denominator among all cultures and a catalyst for social cohesion'.
Fashions of Multicultural Australia (FOMA) is a first-ever national initiative that integrates cultures, generates trade opportunities, and fosters social cohesion through the universally binding industry that is fashion. FOMA acknowledges the origins of Australian fashion and how migration has historically affected it. Learn more here
FOMA 2021 will showcase an eclectic range of culture and fashion through an enthralling multicultural runway showcase occuring from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and through a free and publicly accessible Embassy Exhibit operating from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm throughout the day. The Embassy Exhibit will put on show a range of key cultural and fashion items that participants can interact with throughout the day, and is being run in conjunction with our Foreign Embassy Partners.
In 2019, FOMA attracted an audience of more than 3,000, showcasing 17 Designers and collaborating with 12 Australian Foreign Embassies. In 2020, we look forward to showcasing a vibrant and multicultural Australia once more through fashion.
